Teething :/

The teething monster has entered our house and has taken away my happy-go-lucky baby and replaced him with a sad, whiny, little guy :(  No teeth are popping through yet, but I hope they show up soon so the pain can subside and Robert can return to his normal self!

He's gnawing on anything he can get his hands on and drooling up a storm at the same time,

pulling on his cheeks and ears,

and going from this....

...to this in 2 seconds :(  Not even the jumparoo can help out with this stage.

This about sums up our mood of the day.

Meeting Jason for the first time!  We also met his lovely wife Jessica, who Robert took a liking to ;)

First time on the boat...unfortunately we didn't go anywhere due to some issues, but we're ready for the next visit!

First dip in the lake...not so bad, but he hates the life jacket!

Bros and cousins

Robert looks up to his older cousin, trying to learn all his tricks!

Thanks again to Auntie Heather for the cute t-shirt :)

Cousins...or as Mary eloquently put it, the plaid pants patrol ;)

Ch-ch-ch-changes

It's such a whirlwind around here lately, things are intense and it feels like something is changing in  every aspect of life!  We're hanging on and just counting down until the big move.  In the meantime, here are a few of the changes from this week....

Robert decided to start sitting up like the big boy he is this past week.  He'd been doing ok sitting for very short periods in my lap, but almost overnight it seems like he just started sitting on his own!  And now he is getting really good at it....and of course he loves looking at the world from this perspective.

So since he was sitting up better, we decided it was time for him to sit in the big boy part of the stroller....gone are the days of the car seat + stroller.  He loved the few trips we took in it this week.

We spent the weekend and this week packing a little bit and organizing some of our belongings, getting some more projects done in the basement and trying to find renters....never a dull moment!

Robert trying to stand and also trying to "help" with packing aka eat everything in sight
Two grandpas here to help with projects and "Grandpa's little helper"

Work in the basement is progressing well!  Here's a small update of what it looks like right now, just some more finishing to do and it will be done.
Some vinyl tile going down in the main hallway

The shower - tile is completed, with just a bit of grouting left to do and fixtures are in

The vanity, toilet and light fixture are in

Floor tile and trim are done and grouted!

Lastly, just a cute picture of the boy....

Oh hi mom, I had a long day, I'm just going to rest my head on this toy here for a minute.

Five Months

Robert is five months old today!!  I feel like I could start each month's post with "I cannot believe that he has grown so much!"  But seriously, this boy is getting BIG!

He's weighing in at 16 pounds, 11 ounces - and trust me, my back, my legs, and my arms all feel it!  Chip feels light as a feather compared to his chunky brother ;)

Current likes/favorites: playing in the jumperoo, Sophie the Giraffe, his feet (he's obsessed), Chip! - he's started to reach out for him and gets excited when he sees him (Chip's world is about to change and I think he knows it....there's some fear in his eyes when Robert's little hand reaches out for him), trying to sit on his own, reaching out for anything anyone is holding on to (paper, water bottles, silverware, you name it...he grabs for it), babbling and talking (mostly to hear his own voice).

Dislikes: Loud coughing - makes him cry :(, when he's overtired or doesn't sleep well (this is a dislike for everyone!), getting bored from doing one activity too long, not being able to move or sit how he wants - he's getting stronger but gets frustrated when he can't scoot or roll or sit up on his own.

Yep, that's a toe in the mouth.  He didn't get his flexibility from me, must be from his dad.

1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 X 2!
