January - March

January and February were so cold and snowy, we stayed close to home and inside where it was warm for the most part! I know by the time we experienced the blizzard in February, we were all ready for spring to arrive. Here's what took up our time for the first few months of the year...

Here we are after part 1 of February's blizzard. Thankfully we have a few friends that live nearby, so we weren't completely cooped up in our place. We enjoyed spending time with our South Arlington neighbors and friends.

Later on in the week, Chip helped me work on a puzzle ;)

Here's our house, still just after part 1 of the blizzard.
Here's our whole street, again just after the first part of the blizzard.
Here's the house on Thursday, after all the snow was done and we finally got completely dug out. Also the first day we saw the sun after a lot of storms!
That was basically how we spent our February. March was a welcomed change from the snow and we started to see some warmer days...thankfully the weather turned just as I really needed to start training for the 10 miler I was preparing for! March was a month full of fun activities!
Of course, the beginning of March was great, as always, because I got to celebrate my birthday! I had a really fun weekend. It started with dinner out with Matt, Mary and Jim at Potenza (very yummy!), I had a visit from my parents, AND some friends and I threw a fun baby shower for our friends Adrianne and Jason. Here they are at the fun event.
Hostesses!

And the cute little cake Lauren got for me and Kat (her bday was the week before!)

Jim got me some beautiful chartreuse roses again for our anniversary! And we enjoyed a very nice dinner out at Palena. I would definitely recommend it :)
We attended a beautiful wedding (on a beautiful day!) at Mount Vernon for our friends Shawn and Rebecca--complete with a post reception party in Old Town. Fun times were had by all!!

We wrapped up March with a visit to Maryland to see the Sterners and finally meet baby Shayla! She was as adorable (ok, maybe a little more) as we'd seen in pictures. She was so smiley and happy, we had a great time meeting her and spending time with her parents too ;)
